Appointment of Diana Mong’are as a Director and Allan Thiga as an Advisor
Nairobi, Kenya –Haba Capital is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Diana Mong’are as a Director and Mr. Allan Thiga as an Advisor. Diana and Allan will be instrumental in providing strategic direction of the company and informing growth strategies for our portfolio companies.
Ms. Diana is a senior investment associate at LGT Venture Philanthropy, the philanthropic fund of the princely family of Lichtenstein, funding organizations across three main themes - healthcare, education, and conservation. Diana's primary focus is on conservation where she invests in organizations providing nature-based solutions to combat climate change in Africa.
Prior to her current role, Diana worked at CrossBoundary’s advisory team where she worked with entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to facilitate investments in agriculture, FMCG, healthcare, among others. She has also worked as an analyst at McKinsey & Company in the San Francisco and Washington DC offices; and at Morgan Stanley in NewYork.
Diana holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and German from The Huntsman Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Diana will be instrumental in formalizing Haba’s investment strategy and process, sourcing transactions, and pre-screening opportunities.
Mr. Allan is a Principal and Managing Partner at BAP Africa, an advisory firm whose mission is to unlock the potential that exists within African enterprises by working with Investors, Corporates and SMEs. BAP has professional experience in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ghana.
Allan joins Haba with over 10 years of corporate financial and operational experience within multiple industries including: Financial services, FMCG, Renewable Energy and Technology.
Allan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Economics and Political Science from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Finance from Villanova School of Business.
Allan will leverage his finance and operations skills to bring efficiency in our portfolio companies and is already appointed to the board of Haba Capital’s investee - Nexen Microcredit.
