Haba Capital:
Haba Capital is a private debt and equity investment company domiciled in Kenya. It is funded by small investors, and seeks to invest in small and medium enterprises with proven business models and relatively predictable cash flows.
Founding:
Haba Capital derives its name from the Swahili proverb that says, “Haba na haba hujaza kibaba” which loosely translates to “little by little fills up the measure.” The company has operated in Kenya since 2015 as TeDi Capital and rebranded to Haba Capital in 2019.
Investment criteria:
Haba capital invests up to $200,000 in for profit entities with relatively predictable cash flows and a dedicated management team. We prefer opportunities that are referred to us by trusted counterparties and deal structures vary by company.
Key investors:
Haba capital is funded by tens of young professionals with a keen interest in investing in young entrepreneurs in Africa. Investors are welcome to submit investment ideas, and have a say on the allocation of their capital.
